Club Meeting [Temperament Test]

Dalene McIntire, Temperament Test Evaluator for the GSDCA, will present a program on the test the club will be hosting on July 19. All breeds and mixed breeds can enter. We will also have extra entries at the June program.

This test was started by the GSDCA in 1967 and has been going strong since. Having a TC (the title your dog earns when passing the test) is also a requirement for the prestigious AOE award through the GSDCA. The test is open to all breeds and several other national breed clubs count the TC toward special titles they award their breed.

The test consists of 8 scoring stations, each of which will be explained at the meeting and scored by the evaluator. who accompanies the handlers through the whole course. On some stations, such as the can rattling and weird stranger, three different parts will be scored. The scoring runs from -3 to +3 in each instance. Any minus score means the dog does not pass the test; however, the dog can be tested again at a later date.

The cost for the test is $30 per dog.

Attend the June meeting and see how the test is run and how it is scored. We will have a video of one of our previous tests. All dogs passing will receive a certificate from the GSDC of Washington State as well as the GSDCA of America. Invite your doggy friends to attend the meeting. As always, all are welcome…
